Rich Academic Curriculum
Nurturing academic excellence rooted in biblical truth
At CCA, we teach from a biblical worldview. That means everything we do is designed to help our kindergartners understand themselves and the world around them in light of the truth revealed in God’s Word.
Your child will grow in their knowledge of God’s grace and discover how they fit into His story.
English Language Arts:
Our robust ELA program is built on the Science of Reading and incorporates individualized guided reading, strategy groups, Orton Gillingham intervention, and writing workshop. The proven Heggerty phonics curriculum sharpens students’ reading, spelling, and writing skills as they learn to hear the sounds in words. We use Fountas & Pinnell for guided reading and Heinemann’s Units of Study curriculum for writing workshop.
Math:
Using the Everyday Mathematics curriculum, students are introduced to geometry, measurement, time, money, and graphing concepts. Each time a concept recurs within a unit, it is more complex and rigorous. These concepts lay a strong foundation for understanding and developing number sense.
Science:
Our kindergarten science program is based on the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Utilizing the Building Blocks of Science curriculum, we incorporate hands-on activities to engage and excite students about the world and the way God has created it.
Social Studies:
Our Social Studies curriculum explores topics such as community, citizenship, historical figures, holidays, and culture. Students discover how to apply what is learned across other subjects to serve the local and global community.
In addition to our core curriculum, students at CCA benefit from a well-rounded experience with engaging enrichment through World Language and Culture, Art, Music, and PE.
During our Gathering time each day, students come together to learn more about God and interact with His Word by reading the Bible, singing songs, and praying.
“The low teacher-to-student ratio, hands-on teaching and learning styles, as well as a focus on spiritual growth checked all the boxes for us! Our son is thriving and confident due to his safe, loving, and God-centered environment at CCA”
– Mary Eskew, kindergarten parent

“There is nothing better than watching a little one grasp a concept and show excitement when they know they are learning new things. Kindergarteners get SO proud of themselves (as they should) when something finally clicks!”

We understand that safety is a top priority for parents when considering schools.
We’ve made significant investments to keep your child safe at CCA. This commitment starts with safety measures that include locked doors, surveillance cameras, and a security officer and sheriff’s deputy on campus at all times.
